Teste de avaliação – Unidade 2 (2)

Read Sarah’s and Dan’s opinions shared in a teen’s forum.

Sarah: I think school is cool because there are more positive than negative things about it. There are lots of things I like about school: meeting my friends, learning new things, doing research, having extracurricular activities… I belong1 to Journalism Club. I love writing. Teachers say I can write very well. But I think reading is as exciting as writing.

Of course there are also things I don’t like. For example, we sometimes have too much homework to do, and certain rules are very strict2: We must wear a uniform every day (from time to time I would like to wear my favourite clothes) and we mustn’t take our mobile phones to school. I think we could take them to class if they were switch off.

My favourite subject is History but the teacher I like most is the Science teacher because he is very good-tempered. He is never unhappy, and we laugh at his jokes a lot. I find Maths less difficult than Arts.

1. belong – pertencer 2. strict – rígidas

Dan: I don’t mind going to school every day but I’m not crazy about it. There are things I like and things I don’t like about school. The best thing is meeting my friends and having fun with them during the breaks… and sometimes during the lessons too.

I know that it’s wrong, but I am talkative. My mother always says: “Pay attention in class! Do the activities! Don’t talk to your friends! Respect your teacher!” I think she is right, and these are important school rules that I must obey. It is important to follow these rules as studying.

I’m very keen on sports and I’m in the School Rugby Team. Our coach always tells us: “Do your best! Work hard!” But he also says: “Don’t forget to study hard too!”

Well, I think school is ok.
