Helen: So, what do you want to do? There are a lot of things to see in New York.

Jack: Today I want to buy some souvenirs for my parents.

Helen: Let’s go to Fifth Avenue. It has some of the biggest shops… but there are also many smaller shops.

Jack: Oh, no. Things are very expensive there.

Helen: Oh well… Let’s go to Chinatown in Manhattan. There are lots of outdoor stands selling New York City souvenirs for very cheap prices.

Jack: Ok. Good idea.

Later in Chinatown.

Jack: My father loves baseball and I want to buy him a New York Yankees cap. I’ll buy a T-shirt for my mum.

Helen: They’ve got souvenirs over there, just across the street. But there are other souvenir shops not far from here.

Jack: OK. Let’s see those souvenirs over there first and then we’ll walk to the others.

 

1. Correct the wrong information in the sentences.

Jack wants to buy some souvenirs for his friends.

Things are cheap in Fifth Avenue.

They can’t find souvenirs in Chinatown.

 

2. Answer these questions about the text.
